Please you tell us about your new album?
The title of my new album is BEECH. At the heart of BEECH lies a powerful metaphor: the Danish beech tree, which burst into life each spring, marking a moment of renewal and growth.
It reflects my personal and artistic journey, deeply rooted in Danish nature and heritage. This album is a tribute to my roots – the landscapes, the people and the experiences that have shaped me. The beech tree represents strength, transformation, and the beauty of new beginnings, which is why I chose to release BEECH on one of the final days of spring – May 30 2025.
Beyond its Nordic inspirations, the tetralogy which includes BLUE (2020), BLIKAN (2021), BEYOND (2023) and BEECH (2025), serves as a sonic diary, chronicling the private moments in my life: my father´s passing, the discovery of love and motherhood, and the thrill of exploring the world while remaining connected to my Scandinavian heritage.
What other projects are you currently involved in?
Besides my own project I am also the other half of the ambient duo K A L E II D O. We have released 3 album and have a fourth on the way. I am also part of the folk/jazz quartet TINGO, who played at this years Copenhagen Jazz Festival and we are releasing our second album next year.
I also work as a sidemusician and take part in projects with Emil De Waal, Peter Rosendal, Rumpistol and Jesper Thorn.
What are you currently listening to and what was the last CD or download you bought?
I am listening to a lot of different music. Every morning me and my family hear the Danish jazzchannel on the radio P8 Jazz. I recently got introduced to Laufey from Iceland and her great album “Bewitched” (2023)
The last vinyl I got a few months back is Jan Johansson: “Jazz på Svenska”. I have it on cd. Amazing music that I have heard quite a lot. I am happy to now have it on vinyl.
What is your all-time favourite album and why?
That is “John Coltrane: Ballads. It is just amazing, and I really really love that album. I will never get tired of it.
Coltrane´s sound and approach to the saxophone have inspired me most. He was extraordinary in his way of playing the instrument and his way of playing jazz and music in general.
Who has caught your attention recently that we should be listening out for?
Laufey from Iceland is interesting to check out. The Danish guitar player Rasmus Oppenhagen Krogh is a really great young musician. He has released 3 albums already and has a new one on the way. His sound is just beautiful. The last recommendation is the Icelandic saxophone player Oscar Gudjonsson, who has a sound that is just so unique, airy and powerful.
